Full Length Novel, Editing, and Hopefully Publishing

Over 100,000 words! A hundred thousand! How did this happen?! This started out as a zine! Then it became a novella! Now it's a full length novel! How?!

The editing is coming to a close. I'm less than 20 pages away from finishing this beast. When I started this was a zine I had no idea what I was doing. Then it turned into a novella. Now a god damn book. It started in 2019! Three years of hard work and god knows how many edits. It's really amazing how much effort went into this little project of mine. Now it's all grown up.

Once I'm done editing this I'm going to give a shot at submitting to publishers. It will be a long and miserable journey. But a full length novel is an easier pitch than a novella, so this works out in the end. That being said, once the editing is done I am going to have to disable downloads. Publishers don't like it when the novel you're pitching is already published in some form and for free no less. I'm going to give it a year of submissions and waiting for responses. If by that time no one wants it, I'm going to self publish everywhere but for a reasonable price. So what I'm saying is enjoy the novel while it's still up for free, even if it is still being edited.

It's been a wild ride but I'm glad I've seen this through to the end.

Updates: 1. After some consideration I am changing the name of the story to HIT SOMEBODY!

The reason why is that Mary Abaddon is simply a lackluster name. It's dull and says nothing about the story or the tone. It's a flop of a name. The new edition deserves a better name and a better cover. I'm going to keep this page up and make a new page for the edited story for posterity and to prevent any confusion. More details to come.

2. I am currently in the process of editing and doing a lot of rewrites. HIT SOMEBODY! will return in a few months in a single, consolidated file. In the meantime the draft is available for download.

The "XXX" marks where I last left off editing. The first draft doesn't have chapters and all the paragraphs are double spaced to aid in the editing process. Proceed knowing it's a draft.
